Visual Storyteller, Builder of the imagined, Renaissance Woman, Pragmatist dreamer! 

 

I come to design through a meandering route. After finishing my BA in Montreal, I moved to Vancouver where I fell in with the music scene of the late 80’s and 90’s this afforded me the opportunity to work around the world as a Music video director, Art director, photographer and stage concept designer, working with artists as diverse as Sarah MacLachlan, Skinny Puppy and MC900ft Jesus. It was a creative and exciting period where everything went, and did, as long as we got our ideas done!  

 

Through the creative relationships I built in this realm I Segway-ed into costume design and set design and decoration in Film and Television (both commercial and art based), as well as prop stylist and fabricator in commercial photography. All the while continuing to develop my personal art practice. Each project, whether modest or larger than life, taught me a new perspective, a new way to translate vision, and expanded my creative range. I am grateful to them all! 

 

Now, after giving back (aka over a decade of teaching production design and visual storytelling at Vancouver Film School (Vancouver/Shanghai, China) :) and completing my Masters degree at UBC , I am back in the creative swing, looking forward to the next project! Let’s make something great together!
